A few months ago Jason started reading Alia chapter books before she went to bed. Alia LOVES them!
Alia amazed me as she read this story. She was very saddened when Aslan died (sorry to spoil it for you if you didn't know). But her comment was "well...the book isn't over yet, so maybe something else happens!" How observant of her to notice that! Then, when Aslan came back to life Alia came running down the hall yelling "mommy! mommy! aslan came back to life! Just like Jesus did!!!" She made that connection without any prompting...amazing. Jesus is moving in her little heart and it seems like she somewhat grasps what it means that Jesus was resurrected.
Charlotte's Webb was the first book he read her. We found a copy of the book that used to be mine and that made it much more interesting to Alia. As Jason read it Alia seemed to not be listening-she'd squirm around in bed a lot...but throughout the days we found out she really was listening! Amazing! :) :)

We are enjoying reading Dr. Seuss, Max Lucado, and other books to Soren while he is still in my womb. I can't wait to share these kinds of books with him! I pray his little heart will love Jesus like Alia does!
