Greenie Beanies

"Hmm...do I even like these things?"

We've been doing all we can to teach Alia to eat veggies. It's been an interesting challenge...stress the word challenge. :) As the days have gone by, it's gotten a little easier and take less time sitting and waiting for her to eat them. Here are two funny pictures I took a few nights ago.

Snowy Mountain

This past Friday we packed up and went to the mountains. It took about 2 hours to get there but it was a ton of fun. The kids did great in the car both ways. It was a fun family day as we all went "sledding" down the big hill. Enjoy these cherished moments! We look forward to more family trips to the snowy mountains!

My new trick!

So, this is what we see as we come into Elijah's room after his naps. Yep...he's figured out pulling himself up in his crib. Now...we'll have to lower the crib mattress. It's pretty cute though when we walk in-he looks at us with a big smile. :)

Playtime!

Alia is putting "hats" on her head and her brother's.

I got out our tunnel that Alia used to play in all the time. Elijah scooted right through it...no problem. Then, his sister decided it was her turn, too.

Last night, after dinner, Alia and I decided to draw some pictures on her
chalkboard. My stick man is on the left and Alia's is on the right. This was her first try at copying what I was drawing. I think it's a pretty good stick figure, if you ask me.

Opps

So, you have to wonder what the story is behind this picture. Don't worry...I'm gonna tell you. That's why I took the picture.

So...I sat down to feed Elijah his lunch (sweet potatoes, green beans, and apples) and after a few bits Alia jumps off her chair saying she has to go potty. So, I thought she was going to do #2, so I followed her to help her. Of course, I put the bowl of Elijah's food down before I ran to the bathroom. Once in the bathroom I heard Elijah crying-his normal cry of "Mommy I'm still hungry...feed me!!" Alia finished her business (just #1) and we went back into the kitchen to see the image in this picture! My eyes about popped out of my head, and Alia said, "Oh my! Oh my, oh my, oh my!" And, well...Elijah was not a happy camper. I did my best to clean it up, and to take off his overalls...and got him some new food cause he was still crying his hunger cries. :) This is the messiest meal time we've ever had in our house...even with Alia.

Poor Elijah...but rest assured, once he ate his second lunch he did stop crying. :)

Moral of the story...ALWAYS make sure you put the bowl of baby food as far away from baby as you can. Otherwise, you may see this image too!

Bathtime!

Here's Elijah taking his first bath in his big boy ducky bath. Alia used this bath from the time she sat up until she was about 1. Elijah is following suit...doesn't he look so cute? :) He loves the water...and the toys. :)
He went in this week for a weight check-just to make sure he's gaining weight despite his reflux. And...he is! He was 14lb 14oz a month ago...and he now weighs a whopping 16lb 4oz! The dr was real happy...and told us to keep doing what we're doing. So, we will. He's nursing about 5 times a day and eating huge meals of homemade baby food 3x a day (always telling us he wants more cause he cries). It seems like he's always eating in some form. But, even with the reflux meds, he's still puking qute a bit. Not so fun...but he's still gaining weight. He's great... :)
